Goalie mask design has always been a passion of mine over the years ever since high school. I remember spending many hours trying to come up with the perfect design for my first custom paint job on my Eddy Goaltec way back in 1995. Not much has changed since then, I still spend a lot of time thinking about what I want to put on my next mask. Except now I’m fortunate to have turned that hobby into a small business. I get just as excited to work on an idea you give me as I am for my own masks.
I’ve been a goalie for a very long time, from the outdoor practices as a mite to playing in front of 7,000 fans in my brief stint at Minnesota State University to now playing a couple of times a week in front of maybe 5 people if we’re lucky. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can relate to how that design needs to be just right to complete the look of your gear or represent a part of your life. So take a look around, let me know what you think. I welcome your feedback and look forward to working with you!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long is the turnaround time?
A: For painted masks, I try to get everything turned around in about 2 weeks. Sometimes it’s longer, sometimes it’s shorter. It just depends on my workload.
Q: Where are you located?
A: I operate out of my home, which is in Burnsville, MN, a suburb of Minneapolis.
Q: Can I ship my mask to you?
A: Of course!
Q: My mask has some nicks and scratches, can you fix those?
A: I sure can! If you’re just looking for a simple refurb for your mask, I’m happy to make it look as new as possible.
Q: I need some accessories for my mask, do you sell those?
A: I sure do. I have elastic straps, screws, snaps, chin cups, and foam padding.
Q: Do you require any sort of a down payment?
A: Depends. I consider the mask itself down payment enough. But If you want me to help come up with a design, I do require a small down payment so I know you’re serious about getting some art on your mask. That fee is then applied to the final quote, not in addition to.
Q: How much do you charge to paint my mask?
A: Totally depends on the complexity of the design. If you have a general idea of what you’re looking for, I can give you a ballpark figure until we reach a final design.
Q: My season is starting soon and I need my mask painted before it starts. Can you squeeze me in to the front of the line?
A: No I cannot. It would not be fair to all of my clients who have been waiting patiently for their turn to come up. I’ll be happy to put your name on the schedule and will let you know when it comes up.
